COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Understandably, there is a lot of uncertainty and anxiety about the Corona Virus. We are committed to ensuring your health and safety as well as our team’s health and safety.

Sleep affects your immunity and since sleep apnea is a very serious condition that can lead to other health problems if left untreated, we are pleased to inform you that we continue to see patients and address their needs. We have implemented measures recommended by CDC and other agencies, such as health screening for patients and employees, telemedicine appointments, drive-through services, digital impressions, social distancing, sterilization and disinfecting. We continue to monitor the CDC guidelines for best practices and to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for you.

Below is a summary of the steps currently in place to ensure your safety.

Employee Health Screening

Employees have been strictly required to practice social distancing outside of our treatment rooms. Employees are also having their temperatures monitored daily.

Patient Health Screening

  • We ask that patients experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and difficulty breathing) or have been in close contact with anyone with the above symptoms and patients who have returned from travel in the past 14 days to inform us to reschedule their appointments.
  • When arriving to your appointment, we ask you to complete a COVID-19 screening interview and a temperature check in accordance with CDC and American Dental Association recommended guidelines.
  • For patients with higher risk (elderly, pregnancy, lung or heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes and immunocompromised conditions), we ask to reschedule their appointments or use telemedicine or drive-through service.

Social distancing and PPE

We ask you to practice social distancing in our reception area or wait in your car if preferred. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used in our office, which includes gowns, eye-protective wear with side protection, masks and gloves are designed to ensure that no body fluids can be passed between staff and patients.

When possible, you have the option to remain in your vehicle (i.e., during your device delivery or dropping your device for repair) please call us for details.

Telemedicine Appointments

Real-time, audio-video consultations are available, call us to schedule.

Digital Impressions

Also known as 3-D intraoral scanning, the latest technology in capturing a replica of the mouth by using a wand-like camera. It’s clean, fast and more comfortable.

Sterilization Procedures

Strict surface sterilization procedures are followed to clean and disinfect all operatory surfaces between patients and, after each use.

Common Area Disinfecting

As a result of the current coronavirus concern, we have taken added precautions in the common areas. All magazines and pamphlets have been removed. Lobby surfaces are disinfected regularly. In addition, hand sanitizer is available to all patients.

According to the CDC, the most important steps we all can take to avoid infection from airborne diseases are frequent hand washing with soap and water and regular cleansing of highly used surfaces with disinfectant.
